Velu natchiar was born in 1730 at sakkanthi in Ramnad and her father was chellamuthu vijaya raghumatha
sethupathi and her mother was Muthathal Nathciammal. She was a very brave, talented and illustrious lady with
sound knowledge in warfare and literature. At the age of 16 she got married with muthu vaduganatha peria
Oodaya Thevar son of Sasivarna peria Oodaya Thevar of sivagana. Soon sasivarana peria Oodaya Thevar died in
or about the year 1750.His only son, muthu vduganatha peria Oodaya Thevar aged just 21 succeeded him. His
wife Rani velu vachiar acted ad "Friend, philosopher and guide" to him
