Abstract:
The effective shape of triple band microstrip antenna which provides low return loss, better gain and performance for satellite communication (X, Ku and K band) application is proposed. Tri-band operation of the antenna is performed with Duroid 5880 Poly-tetra fluro Ethylene (PTFE) substrate material, L and E shape slots in copper patch and is excited by 50Ω coaxial probe feed. The overall dimension of the antenna is 7mm×8mm with height of 0.787mm.The return loss of the antenna is -33.23dB in X-band (10.39GHz), -31.50dB in Ku-band (13.89GHz), -26.53dB in K-band (19.04GHz) and VSWR is 1.04, 1.05, 1.09 respectively. The antenna furnishes stable radiation performance with gain greater then 8dB over the operating frequency bands. The antenna configuration and parametric investigations are conducted with the help of Ansys HFSS (High Frequency Structure Simulator).
