Abstract:
Schiff bases derived from heterocyclic compounds shows high microbiological activity, as antifungal, antibacterial and for treatment of cancer diseases. Based on this Schiff bases L1 was derived from Isatin and 2-aminopyridine and L2 was derived from 4-aminoantipyrine and 2-acetylpyridine.The structural evidences of the ligands and its Metal complexes were obtained by elemental analysis, molar conductance, IR, UV, 1H NMR,ESR spectral studies and Magnetic susceptibility studies. Antimicrobial activity of the complexes against microorganisms like, two Gram positive bacterias (B.Subtilis,S.Aureus), two Gram negative bacterias (S.typhi, E.coli) and two fungai(Trichophytonsimii, Trichophytonrubrum) shows high activity of the complexes derived from the ligand L1.
