Abstract:
The law stipulates that every child has essential fundamental rights such as the right to
education, health, life, security, participation and protection from exploitation, yet these rights
are frequently denied to children from marginalised groups due to some systemic biases. Children
of Commercial sex workers (CSW), like their mothers, are victims of social ostracism, suffering
from self-esteem issues, social isolation, and low quality of life. These children are often left
behind and efforts make to bring them back to mainstream society by ensuring education and
other fundamental needs are limited. This study explains the various laws, treaties and policies
which promote the education of the marginalised population. The study also attempts to
investigate the major psychosocial issues faced by these children in accessing education and the
potential ways to promote the education of the children of Commercial Sex Workers.
